As I mentioned a few posts back the TV studio is what I've been looking forward to the most and since we had a tour of the studio I literally cannot wait to try the cameras out. We've been assigned our brief and sorted into teams. Our teams were based on people within our class that we hadn't really worked with before, at first I was a little aprehensive as it was easy to work with my friends but on reflection I think working with those I wouldn't usually work with will propose a welcome challenge and also put a pressure to work at my full potential as it is easy to become lazy or distracted when with friends.
My group consists of :
Ceri Dack - Floor Manager
Gemma Blaney - Producer
Amy Palin Tune - Director
James Dunn - Presenter
Josh McDowell - Presenter
Me - Set Designer
Once sorted into groups we decided who would play each role within the group. I was assigned the role of Set Designer which I was both glad and dissapointed about. As I studied art and design at A-level this was within my comfort zone and I was hoping to challenge myself but when I read into detail what the responsibilities of my role were I'm glad I chose it.
Our brief is to produce a pilot episode for channel 4, the episode needs to be a magazine style show and be channel 4's lunch time show to rival competetors such a loose women. the show must fit with channel 4's style and be something different from whats been before.
This is the type of work I'd been hoping to do throughout the entire course but since it's just one module I'll have to make it count.
