As part of our research for answering the question set, we decided to have a focus group.
Focus Group:
· Our focus group consisted of asking six people to take part in playing on two T.V show apps.
· We asked the six contestants five questions after taking part of the focus group.
· The apps used in the focus group where; who wants to be a millionaire and The Million Pound Drop.
· The contestants where a mixture of male and females.
· We made sure that at least three contestants would play MPD and the other three would play WWTBAM.
So for our focus group, we decided to allow each contestant to play the games and once they had completed their turn of the game. We would then give them the five questions to answer with the ballot boxes.
Focus Group Questions;
Q1) Did you enjoy the app you played on?
Q2) If you could get the app and all of its features for free would you download it?
Q3) Would you pay for any of the apps on your own device?
Q4) Would you play any of the T.V shows apps, while the program is on live?
Q5) If you could get these apps using the red button would you use it?

As the results shown from all contestants;
• All answered Yes to both question 1 & 2, this means they all enjoyed playing on the apps. And that they would download the apps if they were free.
• Most answered No to question 3 apart from one, who answered Yes, this means that most wouldn’t pay for the apps on their own device. Maybe they thought their not worth it.
• Most answered Yes to question 4 apart from two, who answered No. This means that most would like to play the apps alongside the live show.
• Most answered No to question 5 apart from two, who answered Yes. Most of the contestants said they wouldn’t play the games using the red button.

To start off our research, we decided to create a questionnaire to ask a range of people about what type of apps they have on their devices. And if they have ever entered competitions for TV shows.

I found this type of research qualitative and useful for our presentation, I really enjoyed conducting the focus group and taking part in others. It's definitely a way of research I will consider in the future.

Wow! I thought Christmas was for relaxing and having a good time but I think the university is anti -Santa. We've got so much work to do over the Christmas break, and it's essays! The worst kind! But I just need to get them finished and then I can enjoy myself.
